By: Dan McDermott

An American Bald Eagle got a great New Year's Day present when he was released back into the wild at Morgan's Ford Rd. Bridge near Front Royal, Va. The mature male eagle had been injured on nearby Interstate 66 in October, 2013 and was rescued by a Virginia State Trooper. The eagle was brought to Blue Ridge Wildlife Center in Boyce, Va. where he underwent surgery and rehabilitation. On January 1, 2014 he was reintroduced into the nature.
