Everyone is so busy during the summer but we all still have that ache to stay connected to our Lord and to each other - so ....enter blogging, and new ways to stay plugged in! Beginning on July 5, we will begin reading John Ortberg's "The Life You've Always Wanted: Spiritual Disciplines for Ordinary People". You can pick up the book at Franconia United Methodist Church, 6037 Franconia Road, Alexandria, VA, on June 24 at 7:30 PM and meet other bloggers, or locate a book on your own. Be sure to have the expanded version as it includes a section on prayer.
The plan is to read 2 chapters a week - there are 13 chapters - and respond to the questions posted at the end of the week. The first discussion questions will be posted July 12. You are invited to write responses, as well a raise questions and comments of your own for discussion. We will see where God leads us! At the end of the study, if you are able, we will meet for dessert at Franconia United Methodist Church on August 25 at 7:00 PM to celebrate our journey together.
SO ... whether you are at the beach, on a mountain top, enjoying an iced tea on your porch or by the pool, on a cruise, or camping this summer you can still study, still stay connected, still live into "the life you've always wanted" and the life that God has intended for you. Just email Pastor Catharine Guest at firstname.lastname@example.org and she will send you an invite.
